Thanks—giving Dakota style

Thanksgiving is the start of a great time here at the Center. Each program has a Thanksgiving celebration. Our clients begin looking forward to this time of year right after Halloween. While our clients are treated to a tradition of food, fellowship, and fond memories, some are not so fortunate.

This year, Ms. Janice Bowers our Sr. Program Assistant, represented The Dakota Center by helping Miami Valley Meals make sure Dayton-area resident in need would be able to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

Ms. Bowers was at the Boys and girls club with Dez’Ja Demmings Dayton Young Black Professionals , G.L.A.D Young Ladies Pillars to the Community of the west side of Dayton passing out meals. Thank you Miami Valley Meals. The meals consist of turkey or ham and the fixings on the side as well hat, scarf gloves, personal hygiene items.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
