SUSAN’S OBITUARY

Susan R. (Susie) Goedde, 62, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024 at home with her family. Susie was born on February 8, 1961, in Kettering, Ohio to Paul A. and Mary Lou (Barlow) Reisinger. She was the youngest of 7 children. She attended St. Albert the Great grade school and Archbishop Alter High School where she made lifelong friends. At Alter she was a Lancerette and on the track team. While attending Bowling Green State University she met her future husband, Phil Goedde. They were married on November 27, 1981, in Dayton, Ohio. They lived in Phoenix, AZ, Richmond, VA, and Toledo, OH before settling in Mason, Ohio in 1996. Susie earned her marketing degree from the University of Toledo in 1991 while also raising 3 children and participating in their school activities. That same year, she and a good friend started a small business called Creative Beginnings which she co-owned until moving to Mason, Ohio. In 1996, she took a position as a Sales Associate for Fischer Homes. There she applied her natural gift for sales and this led to a successful career as a Realtor. For the next 26 years, she helped many clients throughout the Cincinnati area buy and sell homes. During this time, she qualified for the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors Circle of Excellence for 15 consecutive years. She also served as the Social Committee Chair for the Cincinnati Home Builders Association for 12 years. She knew how to throw a good party and never missed one! Susie always considered her greatest achievement to be her 3 children: Sarah (Drew) Johnson, Luke (Allie) Goedde, and Ben Goedde. Nothing else came close until her grandchildren arrived. They opened new avenues for shopping and fashion advice. She was a devoted grandmother to James (Johnson), Claire (Johnson), Charlotte (Goedde) and Graham (Goedde) who knew and loved her as “Gigi.” She is survived by her 2 sisters, Terri (Michael) Fusco, Marylee (Patrick) Dunphy, and 2 brothers, Michael (Jane) Reisinger, and Tim (Jeanne) Reisinger and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia (Chris) Hale, and brother Tom (Margo) Reisinger.
