Hunter Green adds a special touch to a great evening at the Dragons game

Last Wednesday, 7/11, the Dakota Center and Wesley Center Summer Enrichment Campers, along with their parents, were invited to be Hunter Green’s guests at the Dragons baseball game.  68 of us were treated to an exclusive meet and greet with the #2 overall pick in last year’s MBL draft (Cincinnati Reds #1 pick last year). Hunter’s message focused on being a good person.

He shared his 5 principles:  Integrity, Humility, Compassion, Courage, and Discipline.  His presentation was entertaining and passionate.  To think he is just a few years older than the campers is hard to believe.  After wrapping up a long Q+A period, Hunter closed with the importance of team, teamwork, and family as important support networks.  Then he stuck around to sign stuff and take pictures.  What an experience!!

The Dayton Dragons were exceptional hosts as well.  Each person got a hat (Hunter signed many), a ticket, and some Dragon Dollars for something to eat and drink.  We were the only group inside the park and after staking out our spot in Lawn D the gates opened and the festivities began.  The weather was equally accommodating.  All in all it was a wonderful evening building character, connecting community at the ball park.
