Getting ready for the 2018-19 Homework Club

Hard to believe that Monday, Aug. 13th is the first day of Dayton Public Schools.  The Dakota Center Homework Club follows the DPS calendar so when they are closed then so are we.  Check out the DPS Calendar-2018-2019 for the specifics.

Since our summer enrichment camp ended on July 20th we have been cleaning up the center.  We have cleaned the carpets in the computer lab and conference room, the tables, the chairs, the kitchen, and bathrooms.

Also, we have ordered a new ADA compliant dual level drinking fountain which is to be installed by the end of the month which replaces the original equipment that is 17 years old.

Finally, studies show that healthy, active children learn better, perform better academically and experience fewer behavioral problems.  Each of our students are fed a hot, balanced (protein, starch, vegetables, fruits, and milk) meal each day.

We will be ready to go come Monday at 2pm and for the next 9 months, 1 week, and 7 days (283 total days) we will be providing our enrolled students a positive environment for growth and development for the education of the whole person.  The Mind with literacy and Skills.  The Body with health and wellness.  The Spirit with faith, hope, and love respecting ourselves and each other as children of God.
