Reducing the Stigma – Panel 1

The topic of the 1st panel discussion about families facing the issues of addiction. The main take a way was the fact that stigma, regardless of social economic status, of addition prevents those addicted from seeking treatment. The stigma of lack of will to overcome the addiction is a big misunderstanding. It isn’t about will but about treatment. You can’t will cancer from your body just like you can’t will addiction from it either. The next panel’s topic, June 15th, is about providers and treatment options.
