In 20 days, we will once again celebrate Thanksgiving Day. It begins the season where hopes and expectations of goodwill and blessing extended to the “other”. A time where dinners are served to family, friends, and, hopefully, the other by helping with a community meal for your neighbors.
The truth is God created and placed humanity just a bit lower than the angels to care for our third rock from the sun. Life itself requires us to be thankful and, with God’s help, an attitude of gratitude. If God is not a goal for you, then even the even experts in preparedness stress the notion of setting goals, committing to them because of their importance, and constantly working toward them.
Such goals must be clear, measurable, and realistic. So let us all set the goal to be grateful by being polite to each other by remembering to say “Please” and “Thank You” this holiday season. Just two simple words which are not very difficult to pronounce. Say it to family, friends and, most importantly, to the “other”. Say it all the time!! It just might start something to change the condition of our world today. For that we can all give thanks.
