On Saturday, October 30, 2021, the Dakota Center Board of Directors, Executive Director Michael Miller, and the Dakota Center Staff celebrated the unveiling of the Street sign formerly Barnett Street to Ronald C. Foster Way. Mrs. Linda Foster, family, and friends gathered to recognize Mr. Ronald ‘Bobo’ Foster on his 74th birthday with remembrances of a life well lived.
Mr. Foster began his journey at the Dakota Center shortly after returning home from the Army. He taught school for a short period of time however was introduced to the Dakota Center by his brother. He worked and dedicated over 30 years with the Dakota Center and the West side community.
There were many memories shared at this celebration, with family and friends speaking of Mr. Foster’s patience, commitment, caring, and loving nature. I choose to remember Mr. Foster as a gentle spirit, never giving-in to anger or speaking in opposition to anyone. In fact, I admired his disposition in many ways, often thinking how he could remain so calm.
Mr. Ronald C. Foster, ‘Bobo’, will always be remembered by the young people he sheltered, mentored, and loved. His legacy is truly, a Life Well Lived! — Submitted by Ms. Mitchell
