You might be interested in what we have done so far this year. Over the last 8 months, we have:
- Delivered 624 hours of direct After School programing to ~25 K through 8th graders aiding their skill development in literacy and math
- Delivered 580 hours of direct Senior Adult programing to ~30 senior adults 55 years and above facilitating their living independently in safety with dignity and respect
- Grown our annual Community Baby Shower in April to over 100 families, and with our partners like Premier Health and Children’s Hospital, providing basic necessities for new and expecting mothers in furtherance of the Everyone Reach One program
- Invested over $35,000 to install a new commercial quality playground designed for 5–12-year-olds because we know play is the work of children
- Began a monthly food pantry for our community serving ~50 families each month plus delivered over 3,000 meals to those who can’t travel to our pantry
This list does not include all the “soft” deliveries like care, compassion, empathy, gratitude, joy, belonging, and love which fills every moment of our day. While we have made great strides this year, we still have a few more months to go.
As the giving season is rapidly approaching, we ask your consideration to include The Dakota Center in your end of year giving plans. Our year end appeal letter will be mailed in early November. Your year-end donation will go toward our operating costs which will help us ensure $0.90 of every dollar donated goes directly to the list above plus so much more. Your donation helps us help others.
